Why we only accept reservations by text and the need to preorder
Here at The Bull Shed we pride ourselves on providing freshly cooked farmhouse food washed down with our own traditionally brewed real ale. We make sure that we use, wherever possible, locally sourced produce from in and around the Belper area.
We rear our own livestock for meat on our farm or it is sourced directly from the local award winning farm shop,
A Pigs Tale in Alderwasley.
We know it's a bit strange asking you to book by text, the reason for this is we are very rarely next to the diary and are out and about doing farming things, brewing beer and making cheese. As for asking you to pre-order (that raises a few eyebrows) the reasons are twofold.
Firstly, we are very small and only open a couple of nights a week so don't hold onto stock and secondly, so you aren't disappointed!
We also ask that when you are ordering your steak if you could please let us know how you would like it cooked. As we cook over fire this method cooks everything perfectly up to medium rare within 6 to 10 mins but anything over medium rare takes a lot longer especially our fillets which can be up to 2 " thick, so we like to take our time and cook them slowly to prevent them drying out.
Our dough is freshly made so knowing how many pizzas can allow us to make enough and knowing how many pies or what steak you want, means we can make sure everyone that wants one gets one, cooked exactly how you like it.
We don't need to know what toppings you would like on your pizza, we will ask on the night as the toppings can vary.

All our Pizzas are hand made with dough we make ourselves using only flour, yeast and water.
Pizzas are cooked on cast iron skillets using a real living fire.
£11.00 for a full 200g of fresh dough.
Pick up to 5 items (toppings can vary on the night) in addition to sauce and mozzarella
