Why we only accept reservations by text and

require a pre-order

Here at The Bull Shed we pride ourselves on providing freshly cooked farmhouse food washed down with our  traditionally brewed real ale. We make sure that we use, wherever possible, locally sourced produce from in and around the Belper area.

We rear our own livestock for meat on our farm or it is sourced directly from our local butcher Chris at Maycocks, Over Lane, Belper.Our bread comes from Bakewell Bakery and our cakes come from Wilsons Family Bakery

We know it's a bit strange asking you to book by text, the reason for this is we are very rarely next to the diary and are out and about doing farming things, brewing beer and making cheese. As for asking you to do a full pre-order (that raises a few eyebrows) the reasons are twofold.

Firstly, we are very small and only open a couple of nights a week so don't hold onto stock and secondly, so you aren't disappointed!

 We have tables from 2 to 6 people so catering for small groups up to 6  is no problem. For more than 6 if you want a table together we have to do some reorganising in both staff and furniture so we add a 10% service charge on to your bill. We can also do private parties and farmhouse dining in The Bull Shed.

Braised fresh vegetables in a rich ratatouille, topped with a with either goats cheese or cheddar. Served with skin on fries and corn on the cob or salad.

Baked Salmon or Chicken  £14.50

baked slowly with our homemade Provençal vegetable ratatouille 

 topped off with our own soft fresh goats cheese or cheddar and grilled under a high heat in the little inferno.

 Served with chips and corn on the cob or salad.
